31 December 2024 (Tuesday)

I guess this is a wrap on 2024, then. It's been quite a year, blog-wise. I won't claim it was productive or even creative, but still...quite a year. I see a lot of year-end summary posts, but I can't be bothered to write one. See 2022 and 2023, I guess.

Cool, but the opposite of what I'm looking for this year.

I've used /YYYY/MM/slug for my URLs for as long as I can remember. In Kirby, it feels like a bit of a hack, so I've decided to abandon it. I'm now using native Kirby URLs for posts, e.g. "/posts/YYYY/MM/slug". No more magic. I do, however, redirect from /YYYY/MM/slug to /posts/YYYY/MM/slug so that old URLs should still work. Let me know if you notice anything broken

Falling into the perfection trap - P. I. Moore
It’s all so needlessly stupid, and feels overwhelming; an easy trap to fall into every single time. As a proud and perpetual techie I’m a sucker for the new shiny, especially when apps or services gain traction and attention via the blogosphere.
Pete knows.
