We didn't get as much snow as was predicted yesterday, which is ok by me since I'm not scheduled to have my snow tires on until Tuesday. I don't mind cold weather. I don't mind snow, either, but I really dislike driving on snowy, icy roads. I didn't used to. Remember when cars were all rear-wheel drive and you could make some fun moves on ice using the emergency brake? That was fun.

We attended my grandson's "Dedication" at their church yesterday. My daughter was beaming. I'm not a religious person, but I was happy to attend and support her. What I wasn't as happy about was the message. The service was about family but was heavily weighted toward protecting one's immediate family against "the world". Also, he said things like "limp-wristed" and "...at least they know which bathroom to go in." It was gross and disappointing. The only reference to being kind to or helping others was if it was in service of the church. I was saddened that my grandson will be subjected to such selfish and backwards attitudes on a weekly basis. I'll have to be sure and spend a lot of time with him, deprogramming.
