Scanning with Silverfast

Scanning software has to be the most unpleasant genre of software there is. It's uniformly horrible. The worst offender is SilverFast. However, SilverFast also gets me the best scans, fastest. And by fast I don't mean "fast", I mean that it's less slow and cumbersome to get good scans than the others. Today I learned about a feature of their (stupid expensive) Archive Suite. It's called ExpressScan and I have to say that it works really well. It scans, all at once, as many frames as can be lined up horizontally along the scan head's path. For me that means 4 frames on my older Epson V750 holders or 3 frames on the newer holders for the V850. This makes it 3 or 4 times faster than without ExpressScan. I bought the upgrade.
