Daily notes from Jack about everything

Job hunt

When I was in my early 20s, I was invited on a deer hunting weekend with friends. I've never been a hunter, but I went. I even walked around with a rifle. Mostly, though, I drank beer and slept in the woods. I had no real intention of killing a deer.

This is kind of how I'm handling my hunt for a job. I have been half-assing it. Napping when I should be looking. I applied for one position yesterday, but it's a long shot. The rest of the positions didn't resonate at all. This morning, there was one good one. I hope I get it.

All I want is to work with a team of devs and clients and help guide a product or project. I'm reasonably smart, experienced, sensible, and handy to have around, but my resume doesn't explain this well enough I guess. Or maybe that's not what folks want. Or maybe they think I'm too old.
